Der Frage nach der paradoxen Dezentrierung des Menschen als der Natur au\u00dfenstehend gehen wir anhand einer (De)crescendierung von Soundcollagen nach, welche Datens\u00e4tze verarbeiten, die die Auswirkungen der Klimakrise betreffen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Anthropologin Anna Tsing fasst auch unsere Projekt-Pr\u00e4misse eindr\u00fccklich zusammen, wenn sie schreibt: \u201eHuman exceptionalism blinds us.\u201d (Anna Tsing, \u201cUnruly Edges: Mushrooms as Companion Species\u201d, in:&nbsp;<em>Environmental Humanities<\/em>&nbsp;1 (2012), S. 144) Unser Ziel war es, den immensen destruktiven Einfluss des Menschen auf unseren Planeten und jene Akteure, mit denen wir ihn teilen, aufzuzeigen. Gleichzeitig besch\u00e4ftigte uns die Frage nach der anthropozentristischen \u00dcberzeugung, dass der Mensch von der Natur losgel\u00f6st und nicht etwa abh\u00e4ngig von einem gesunden globalen \u00d6kosystem sei.&nbsp;Die Philosophin und \u00d6kofeministin Val Plumwood argumentiert in Bezug auf die Doppelrolle des Menschen in der Klimakrise folgenderma\u00dfen: \u201eI argue that western culture has treated the human\/nature relation as a dualism and that this explains many of the problematic features of the west\u2019s treatment of nature which underlie the environmental crisis, especially the western construction of human identity as \u2018outside\u2019 nature.\u201d (Val Plumwood, \u201cIntroduction\u201d, in: dies.&nbsp;<em>Feminism and the Mastery of Nature<\/em>, London\/New York 1993, S. 2) Diesen Dualismus m\u00f6chten wir mit \u201cEarths (De)crescendo\u201d dekonstruieren.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wie aber diese \u00dcberlegungen vermitteln? Inspiriert von Marcus Maeders Projekt \u201etrees: Pinus sylvestris\u201c war uns schnell klar, dass wir uns methodisch an der Datensonifikation versuchen wollten. Die Sonifikation von Daten ist eindeutig im Werkzeugkasten der k\u00fcnstlerisch-wissenschaftlichen Forschung zu verorten. Auch in unserem Fall verschwammen die Grenzen zwischen wissenschaftlicher und k\u00fcnstlerischer Arbeit schon bei der Konzipierung des Projekts. Beide Bereiche flossen ineinander \u00fcber und verdeutlichten erneut die schon im Seminar besprochene Verbindung von Kunst und Wissenschaft. Wir sind \u00fcberzeugt davon, dass auditive Konzepte ein hohes Zug\u00e4nglichkeitspotenzial haben und so besonders Abstraktes \u2013 wie etwa Datens\u00e4tze zum Klimawandel \u2013 anschaulich begreifbar gemacht werden k\u00f6nnen. Ein Zwischenfazit, das wir an dieser Stelle ziehen k\u00f6nnen, ist, dass ein k\u00fcnstlerischer Umgang mit wissenschaftlichen Daten diesen nicht gleich ihre Kredibilit\u00e4t nimmt. Im Umkehrschluss wurde uns dagegen klar, dass der vermeintliche Widerspruch in der Kombination aus der Genauigkeit wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens und des \u201eFreigeists\u201c der k\u00fcnstlerischen Arbeit nicht existiert. Beides ist miteinander vereinbar, oft sogar kaum voneinander zu trennen und kann einander ma\u00dfgeblich bereichern.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zun\u00e4chst galt es aber die richtigen Datens\u00e4tze f\u00fcr die geplante Sonifikation zu sammeln. Auf Grundlage unserer Recherche legten wir folgende Parameter f\u00fcr unsere weitere Arbeit fest:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li>Anstieg des Meeresspiegels<\/li><li>CO2-Emissionen<\/li><li>&nbsp;Artensterben<\/li><li>Naturkatastrophen<\/li><li>Korallensterben\/Korallenbleiche<\/li><li>Agrarwirtschaftliche Fl\u00e4chennutzung.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Es kristallisierten sich unmittelbar Ideen f\u00fcr die auditive Umsetzung der einzelnen Datens\u00e4tze heraus, die nicht alle in ihrem urspr\u00fcnglichen Ausma\u00df umsetzbar waren. Darum stellt \u201eEarths (De)crescendo\u201c in seiner hier pr\u00e4sentierten Form zwar ein abgeschlossenes Arbeitsstadium dar, wird uns als Projekt allerdings noch weiter besch\u00e4ftigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr die verwendeten Datens\u00e4tze setzten wir uns zun\u00e4chst ein grobes Zeitfenster von etwa 120 Jahren, welches wir in eine etwa 12 Minuten lange Komposition \u00fcbersetzten. Eine weitere Herausforderung stellte die Menge der ausgew\u00e4hlten Parameter dar. Wir arbeiteten sowohl mit Soundcollagen als auch synthetischen Sounds und standen immer wieder vor dem Problem, dass in der Masse der Audiospuren bestimmte von uns intendierte Klangeindr\u00fccke nicht durchdrangen. Um das aber zu gew\u00e4hrleisten, mussten wir abw\u00e4gen: M\u00f6glichst genaue Orientierung an den Daten auf der einen und Spielraum im Sinne der klanglichen \u00c4sthetik auf der anderen Seite.\u00a0Wir versuchten uns schlie\u00dflich an einer Gradwanderung. Was dadurch entstand ist gewisserma\u00dfen ein akustisches Netzwerk datenbasierter Zusammenh\u00e4nge und Bedingungen. So ist eine wesentliche Erkenntnis unserer Arbeit etwa, dass uns erst durch die \u00dcbersetzung der Daten in ein auditives Medium bestimmte Verflechtungen innerhalb der Datens\u00e4tze auffielen. Alle Parameter bedingen einander \u2013 und so auch die menschlichen und nichtmenschlichen Akteure, welche sie abbilden. Die Ver\u00e4nderungen der nichtmenschlichen Tiere und Pflanzen sind ebenso wenig unabh\u00e4ngig von den Handlungen der Menschen wie voneinander selbst. Der Mensch ist nicht unabh\u00e4ngig von Tieren und Pflanzen. Unsere Klangkomposition verdeutlicht diese Parallelen und gegenseitigen Abh\u00e4ngigkeiten und macht sie h\u00f6rbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:54px\" aria-hidden=\"true\"
